Fallen Comrade is a project started by Kevin Inglin, a U.S. military veteran who founded Ferment Drink Repeat – FDR Brewery in San Francisco. This beer, which will be released Friday, May 25 to kick off Memorial Day weekend aims to raise awareness of the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day and to pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to our nation. Our dry hopped ale is red, to symbolize the blood shed on the battlefield, contains lemon peel, to signify the bitter fate of the fallen, and salt, to reflect the tears shed by loved ones left behind. 49th State – Anchorage brewer and Production Manager, Dave Short says,
I want to especially dedicate this brew to the memory of Army 1st Lt. William E. Emmert, who was killed in action in Mosul, Iraq February 24, 2009. My brother served with him and my nephew Hunter William is named in his memory.
Please bring your friends and family to the 49th State over the Memorial Day weekend at their Anchorage or Denali brewpubs to join in remembering those who are gone, but not forgotten.
